One of the main objectives of the presentation that Manuel Blanco, Director of CENER’s Solar Thermal Dept. will deliver today, Monday, during the First International Conference on Renewable Energies in Saudi Arabia, is to comment on the main challenges associated with the modelling, analysis and design of thermosolar power plants. Blanco will give those attending a general overview of the computational tools that can help overcome the main challenges that arise in the design and launch of a plant of this type. The international conference, which was inaugurated yesterday, Sunday, and will last until tomorrow in Dhahran, is organised by the Centre of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy (CoRE-RE), of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. The aim is to boost and promote research and technological development in renewable energies in that country, fostering technology transfer via the international exchange of experiences between enterprises, technicians and institutions from the sector.
