CENER AT EWEA 2012 IN COPENHAGEN

CENER strategic R&D plan for Wind Technologies is focused in offshore applications. State of the art tools for Computational Fluid Dynamic analyses to optimize WindPark configurations have been validated in order to assist in project development. As countries like Spain, Japan and the US have deep waters, design and calculation suites for different Floating Wind Turbines are being tested against the results from experimental models and prototypes. The demanded progressive increase in rotor size leads to the limits in logistics, strength and performace; outstretching them is our aim with our Modular Structural Solutions, Advanced Aerodynamic Profiles for Blades and Control Strategies. The latest generation of Wind Turbines implementing similar novel solutions are being tested in our Experimental Wind Park, where its Complex Terrain characteristics make it an ideal site for adapting the designs to challenging working conditions. The complete instrumentation and experienced supporting engineers of this test facility make it an ideal site for the validation of new telemetry systems for wind resource assessment or wind turbine control.
