Technical personnel from CENER will be taking part this week as speakers at the Mexico Windpower 2012 International Conference, held in Mexico City.
Iván Moya, from the Department of Wind Energy and Raque Izuriaga, from Business Development, will take part as speakers on the panel entitled: “New Key Achievements for the Development of Wind Energy in Mexico,” which will be discussing the results of the project developed jointly for AMDEE (the Mexican Wind Energy Association). This is an initiative for the development of wind energy in Mexico aimed at supporting the definition, development and implementation of a plan of action to accelerate the development of competitive wind potential there. At the same event, CENER will display their capabilities and services in the field of wind energy assessment from mesoscale to microscale levels, through the use of Dynamic Fluid Calculation tools which permit the modelling of parameters such as turbulence and stability.
Given the growing current interest in Mexico for renewable energy, CENER has also organized this week a “Technical Workshop on Methodologies for Mapping Wind Resources” in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical Research (IIE), PWC and Vestas. The Seminar will be held at the IIE facilities located in Cuernavaca on Thursday February 16 and will include the participation of different institutions, government agencies and universities as well as Mexican manufacturers and wind developers.
