OPENING OF SCIENCE WEEK 2011

Inauguración de la Feria Navarra Innova. La consejera Goicoechea se dirige a un grupo de escolares del Colegio San Juan de Lumbier

The Regional Government of Navarre, through the Navarre Innovation Agency (ANAIN), is promoting the second edition of the Navarra Innova Fair, which opened this morning at the Pamplona Planetarium, attended by the Regional Minister for Rural Development, Employment and the Environment, Lourdes Goicoechea Zubelzu. The project is being funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Spanish Science and Technology Foundation (FECYT).

The Fair is one of the activities taking place as part of Science, Technology and Innovation Week, between 8th and 19th November, involving over sixty agents related with R&D and Innovation (technology centres, universities, public and private companies and entities).

The Fair shows members of the general public, and in particular the youth segment, the technological and scientific advances that affect our everyday lives in an area known as the Innovation Runway, which provides the backbone to this exhibition. The event also includes a space dedicated to encouraging visitor participation (“do it yourself”).

The Fair programme encompasses thirty activities including educational workshops for around 1,500 school pupils for Navarre, themed conferences, exhibitions, workshops for the general public, a live radio programme and a series of educational audiovisuals and shows.
