THE NEW REGIONAL MINISTER OF INDUSTRY VISITS CENER

Today, Lourdes Goicoechea, Regional Minister of Rural Development, Industry, Employment and Environment of the Government of Navarra, has visited the different technological facilities that the National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER) operates in Navarra.

Accompanied by the Director General for Enterprise and Innovation of the Navarra administration, Jorge San Miguel and by the Director General of CENER, Jose Javier Armendariz, the Minister was informed about the different projects that the centre is currently working on. In this regard, the fact that construction on the 2nd Generation Biofuel Centre (CB2G) located in the industrial area of Aoiz, deserves to be highlighted.

After the visit to the headquarters located in Sarriguren, whose mian facilities are the photovoltaic module and thermal solar panel test laboratories, the visit continued at the Wind Turbine Test Laboratory in Sangüesa, which is the only one of its kind in the world and where the microgrid is located. Finally the visit ended at the Biofuel Centre in Aoiz.

Lourdes Goicoechea, as Regional Minister, will soon take over the Presidency of the CENER-CIEMAT Foundation, the highest governing body of the centre, which is currently made up of the Ministries of Industry, Tourism and Labour and by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, as well as of CIEMAT, placing special emphasis on the presence in this body of the Secretary of State for Research, Felipe Petriz and the Secretary of State for Energy, Fabrizio Hernandez.
