Institutional representatives and presidents from the Spanish regional parliaments have visited CENER’s Wind Turbine Test Laboratory, located in the Navarra town of Sangüesa, at midday today.
The Regional Minister of Innovation, Enterprise and Employment of the Government of Navarra (and President of the CENER Foundation), José Mª Roig and the Director General of CENER, José Javier Armendáriz, welcomed the institutional delegation, headed by Elena Torres, President of the Parliament of Navarra, as host of the Conference of Regional Presidents (COPREPA), which has been held in Pamplona over two days.
The visited also included, among others, the Government Representative in Navarra, Elma Sáiz; the president of the Regional Assembly of Murcia, Francisco Celdrán; the President of the Parliament of Aragon, Francisco Pina; the President of the Parliament of Castile and León, José Manuel Fernández; the President of the Parliament of Catalonia, Nuria de Gispert; the President of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Antonio Castro; the President of the Parliament of Cantabria, Miguel Ángel Palacio; the President of the Parliament of Galicia, Pilar Rojo, and members of the Presiding Board of the Parliament of Navarra: Ana Figueras and Koldo Amezketa.
Following the photo taken in front of the building the institutional representatives visited the facilities of the largest wind energy test centre in the world, showing interest in the projects and activities developed by the national centre both in wind energy and in other energy areas.
As members of COPREPA, the presidents of the Regional Parliaments of Spain meet each year “to exchange experiences and information, to analyse problems, challenges and opportunities, and boost joint initiatives to improve the working of the parliaments as well as intercommunication between legislative assemblies”.
