Martyn Warr, Commercial Counsellor for Spain and Portugal from the British Embassy in Madrid has recently visited the headquarters of the National Renewable Energy Centre situated in Sarriguren, accompanied by Dereck Doyle, the British Consul in Bilbao.
After visiting the facilities and laboratories of the technology centre, a meeting was held during which the Director General of CENER, Jose Javier Armendariz, set out the possibilities of collaborating with enterprises and technology centres. This collaboration already exists with different universities and centres that CENER works with as a partner in European projects. This is the case of the University of Liverpool, the University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow or with NAREC (Renewable Energy Technology, Research and Development), the energy technology development centre of that country.
Martyn Warr pointed out that his country is interested not only in attracting foreign investment but also in contracting Spanish renewable technology, as this technology is considered to be among the best in the world.
