Energy Accumulation

Its main aim is to develop storage systems that will allow for greater integration of renewable energies into the generation mix.

It is currently working on the use of the hydrogen vector as an energy storage system, produced via water electrolysis based on renewable sources that result in green or renewable hydrogen. Other possible systems are also explored, such as, for example, flow batteries.

This service provides technical assistance in the areas of:

  • Improving the integration of renewable energies, using hydrogen to store the energy
  • Producing hydrogen via wind energy-based electrolysis and reconversion of hydrogen into electrical energy:
    • Modelling electrochemical systems: electrolysers, fuel cells
    • Modelling alternative reconversion systems (turbines, motors, etc.)
    • Dimensioning the necessary installations to integrate hydrogen into a wind farm
  • Using hydrogen in residential applications. Dimensioning the necessary installations to integrate hydrogen into buildings.
