The Mangado – CENER UTE (Temporary Joint Venture) won the tender to construct the Spain pavilion at the EXPO of Zaragoza 2008.

The building, for which the architect was granted the 2009 National Architecture Award, for its “thermodynamic beauty”, was designed with bioclimatic criteria both inside the pavilion and in the exterior public spaces. CENER was responsible for developing the energy and environmental concept of the project, which included the evaporative cooling solutions through the ceramic pillars.
