The collaboration between the Renewable Energy Centre of Chile and CENER will focus on three main areas, wind, solar and biomass, according to the agreement signed recently between both institutions. CENER will support the Renewable Energy Centre of Chile, created in 2009, in aspects related to the evolution of the sector, networks of experts, technology development, knowledge generation, dissemination, organisation of workshops and capacity-building of professionals.
“We are very satisfied about being able to share experiences with an international benchmark like CENER. This agreement is an important step to foster the necessary technology transfer and innovation processes to achieve a relevant participation of the ERNC in the future energy matrix of Chile”, the Minister for Energy of Chile, Marcelo Tokman, pointed out.
The agreement was signed at CENER headquarters, in Sarriguren, by the Director of the CER of Chile, Javier García Monge and by the Director General of CENER, José Javier Armendáriz.
The CER was created in 2009 as an institution promoted by the Chilean government, whose main mission is to foster and facilitate the development of renewable energies in the country.
