“Combining the reliability of renewable energy conversion technologies at the least possible cost are the driving forces for the necessary Research and Development activities”. This is one of the statements made yesterday, Thursday, by the Director General of CENER, Jose Javier Armendariz, during his intervention at the High-Level Seminar on Renewable Energies, organised in Pamplona by the Spanish Presidency of the EU, in collaboration with the Government of Navarra.
The Seminar, which has dealt with the challenge of renewable energies to meet the 2020 targets of the European Union, was attended, among others, by the Director-General of Energy of the European Commission, Philip Lowe, the Secretary of State for Energy, Pedro Marin, the President of the Government of Navarra, Miguel Sanz, and the Director General of IDAE (Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving), Enrique Jimenez Larrea, as well as the people responsible for energy from the member states of the EU.
The Director General of CENER was one of the first to intervene at the start of the Panel on “Technology as an essential tool to meet the renewable energy objectives in Europe”. Iñigo Sabater, from the DG TREN of the European Commission, also took part in this panel.
