Philip Lowe, Director General of the Energy D.G. of the European Commission has visited the headquarters of the National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER) this morning, where he was welcomed by the Director General of CENER, José Javier Armendáriz and the Technical Director, Fernando Sánchez.
Philip Lowe was in Pamplona to take part in the opening of the High-Level Seminar on Renewable Energies, which the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism has organised on the occasion of the Spanish Presidency of the EU, in collaboration with the Government of Navarra.
The Secretary of State for Energy, Pedro Marin, the Regional Minister of Innovation, Enterprise and Employment of the Government of Navarra, Jose Mª Roig, the Government Delegate in Navarra, Elma Saiz, and the Director General of IDAE (Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving), Enrique Jimenez Larrea, accompanied Philip Lowe during his visit to the national research centre. Mr. Lowe showed interest in the on-going projects, some of which are being developed in cooperation with other European centres, as well as in the cutting-edge technological infrastructures, as is the case of the laboratories related to solar energy or biofuels.
