CENER acts as an assessor for the EU in Turkey

Two technicians from the National Renewable Energy Centre, CENER, have formed part of a delegation of 10 people, acting as technical advisors for the EU. They have spent one week in Turkey dealing with aspects related to Solar Concentration Energy and its integration into the electrical grid.

The trip was organised by the Technical Assistance Information Exchange Office (TAIEX) of the DG Enlargement of the European Union, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey and the Turkish Electricity Corporation (TEIAS).

The main objective of the technical conferences was to learn about the experiences of the more advanced European countries and technology centres in the field of solar concentration technologies and their appropriate connection with the distribution network.

In the case of CENER the experts who participated were Monica Aguado, Director of the Renewable Energy Grid Integration Dept. and Marcelino Sanchez, Specialist technician of the Thermal Solar Dept.
