“Spain, the renewable energies route”, is the title of the exhibition that the National Renewable Energy Centre-CENER has organised in collaboration with the Department of Innovation, Enterprise and Employment of the Government of Navarra.
This exhibition is one of the activities planned to celebrate a High-Level Seminar on Renewable Energies that will take place in Pamplona, organised by the Spanish Presidency of the European Union.
The exhibition, coordinated by CENER, reflects the important technological and business development that the renewable sector in Spain has undergone in recent years. Located in the lobby of the Conference Centre and Auditorium, Baluarte, the exhibition is divided into 4 sections that show the most advanced technological infrastructures and strategic projects of each participating company and institution, using graphic and audiovisual supports. The successful model used by the Foral Community of Navarra to boost renewable energies, which is the reason why this Seminar is being held in Pamplona, is also presented.
The following institutions and companies participate in the exhibition: IDAE (Ministry of Industry), Government of Navarra, Ciemat, Red Electrica (REE), Cenifer, Abengoa, Acciona Energía, ACS Cobra, Alstom Power Ecotecnia, EDP Renovables, Eufer, Gamesa, Ingeteam, LM, Mecasolar, MTorres, OPDE, and Sener-Torresol Energy.
The people attending this Seminar, which will be held behind closed doors and on invitation from the Spanish Ministry of Industry, include the Director General for Energy of the European Commission, Mr. Philip Lowe, the Secretary of State for Energy, Mr. Pedro Marín (trustee of CENER), the President of the Government of Navarra, Mr. Miguel Sanz, Mr. Enrique Jimenez Larrea, Director of IDEA, the Regional Minister of Innovation, Enterprise and Employment of the Government of Navarra, Jose Mª Roig, as well as energy directors from the 27 Member States. The Managing Director of CENER, Jose Javier Armendariz, will intervene in the Seminar with a presentation on technology as a basic tool to meet the renewable energy targets set by the European Union for 2020.
