Contributing to the transformation of our economy into a sustainable economy, with high added value and more stable employment faced with the fluctuations of the economic cycle. This is one of the main points of the 2010 INNOVACCION Plan presented this morning at CENER headquarters by Margarita Segarra, Director General for Technology Transfer and Business Development of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN).
The INNOVACCION plan is one of the development actions of the State Innovation Strategy. With this Plan, the Ministry aims to generate 93,000 qualified jobs and 3,900 new innovative enterprises or enterprises that are starting to innovate. Furthermore, the return of 700 million euros from the European Union will be pursued, through programmes such as the 7th Framework Programme or the EDRF Funds of the European Union. Likewise, the MICINN has set the target of reaching 5 billion euros in private investment.
During the conference held today in CENER that was attended by representatives from technology centres, enterprises, associations and universities, the ambitious targets of this Plan have been set out, and which represents a direct investment in R&D&I of 2.6 billion euros for all the actions called this year, which are divided into 7 areas: INNPLANTA (Infrastructures in Parks), INNOEUROPA (Participation of Technology Centres in Europe), INNCIDE (Promotion of Research Results Transfer Offices (Spanish acronym OTRI), INNFLUYE (Technology Platforms), INNPACT (Collaboration projects between enterprises and public research entities or technology centres), INNOCAMPUS-CEI (Excellence in universities), and INNOCORPORA (incorporation of technologists).
The speakers included Begoña Urien (Director General for Enterprise of the Government of Navarra), as well as Daniel Gonzalez de la Rivera (Assistant Director General for Technology Centres and Business Development of the MICINN), Rafael Muguerza (Director of the Innovation and Information Society Service of the Government of Navarra) and Jose Javier Armendariz (Director General of CENER).
The Ministry of Science and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Industry, Ciemat and the Government of Navarra, forms part of the Trustees Board of CENER as national centre for research into renewables.
