Two directors from the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) have visited the facilities of CENER’s Wind Turbine Test Laboratory in the Navarra town of Sangüesa today.
Marsha Funk, Director of Business Associates and Development and Elizabeth Salerno, Director of Data Analysis and Industry of AWEA were accompanied by Marta Rafecas, from the Sector Development Division of Gamesa, and they expressed their interest in visiting the test centre that is already a benchmark in the international wind sector. At the LEA, they were received by Pablo Ayesa, Wind Energy Director of CENER, Javier San Miguel, Business Development, and Luis Figuerido, technician from LEA, who also took the opportunity to comment on the good relations that exist between United States institutions and CENER. Proof of this is the recently renewed agreement with the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the collaboration agreement signed this year with Grand Valley State University, in Michigan.
The representatives from AWEA have participated this week in the Wind Convention, which the Business Wind Association organises each year in Madrid, and they have taken advantage of this circumstance to choose some energy facilities and centres of interest in our country, in order to organise a visit, for around the month of October, of political representatives from the United States.
Apart from the LEA, the AWEA representatives visited the blade manufacturing plant of Gamesa in Aoiz, today, as well as the Renewable Energy Control Centre (CECOER) of Acciona in Sarriguren.
