10 February 2010
New York, Washington, Denver and South Caroline will be the states that the Director General, José Javier Armendáriz, and several executives from the National Renewable Energy Centre, will visit over the coming two weeks. The main objectives of this visit are to consolidate commercial agreements and to initiate new collaboration agreements with North American institutions.
The wind and solar thermoelectric energy areas will play a leading role in this trip when the CENER representatives will return the recent visit made by NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) technicians to the Wind Turbine Test Laboratory located in Sangüesa. The necessary collaboration to construct a new wind turbine test infrastructure, which the US Energy Department has decided to construct in the state of South Caroline, is on the agenda for this meeting.
The second part of the agenda prepared by CENER in the US will take place in the month of May, as the technology centre has planned to participate with a stand at the WindPower 2010 Fair, as well as visit the Sandía Laboratory in New Mexico and Texas University in Brownsville.
There is a progressive increase in the international activity of CENER and currently it is developing projects on all five continents.
