“We are very impressed by the level and leadership of Spain in the development of renewable energies”, was one of the statements made by representatives of the United States Electricity Regulatory Commissions during the days they have spent visiting Navarra and more specifically CENER headquarters and the Wind Turbine Test Laboraotry.
The good collaboration that exists between institutions, enterprises and technology centres has been one of the aspects that have most drawn their attention, and which they describe as an example of good practices to take back to their country.
The visit has been promoted by the American Wind Energy Association Foundation in collaboration with the Wind Business Association (Asociación Empresarial Eólica) of Spain. The members of the delegation were top officials and directors from the Public Commissions of Arkansas, Wisconsin, Missouri and from the Independent Operator of the Californian Electricity System.
Following their visit to Navarra, where they were received by the Regional Minister for Rural Development, Industry, Employment and the Environment, Lourdes Goicoechea, they have travelled to Madrid where they will visit, among others, the main headquarters of the Spanish Electricity Grid (Red Eléctrica de España – REE).
