Its main aim is to develop storage systems that will allow for greater integration of renewable energies into the generation mix.
It is currently working on the use of the hydrogen vector as an energy storage system, produced via water electrolysis based on renewable sources that result in green or renewable hydrogen. Other possible systems are also explored, such as, for example, flow batteries.

Present projects
stoRE aims to facilitate the realization of the ambitious objectives for renewable energy by unblocking the potential for energy storage infrastructure. Energy storage, as part of an integrated approach including grid reinforcement and demand management helps accommodate higher percentages of intermittent renewable energy by balancing the supply and demand and improving the power quality.
This is a microgrid for industrial application, designed in principle to supply part of the electrical loads of the specific facilities of the LEA as well as part of the public lighting of the industrial estate.
Present projects
The project aims to define, design, develop and implement intelligent control systems of energy that facilitate the real-time management of a microgrid of electric energy applied to an industrial area with high penetration rate of renewable energy, in order to change the concept 'pollutant' associated to industrial areas, by another different: "ecological industrial areas capable of developing its own technology".
