The purpose of the CENER Wind Energy Department is to develop applied research activities and give technical advice in the field of wind energy, providing a service for all the sector players, such as: developers, manufacturers, certification authorities, financial institutions, users, associations and administrative bodies, both at home and abroad.
The aim, in short, is to improve the efficiency and therefore the competitiveness of an evolving sector. In this sense, the CENER Wind Energy Department is working on different research projects, on its own initiative and in cooperation with technological centres, institutions and companies

CENER will be attending EWEC2009 which will be held in Marseille, France from 16th to 19th of March 2009. You are invited to visit our booth where our technical and commercial team will be showing you, besides all the activities of the wind energy department: evaluation of wind resources, measurement campaign with LIDAR, Studies of extreme wind speeds in hurricane areas, Wind Resource assessment through CFD in complex terrain and Off-shore, forecasting of energy production, Design and Development of Tools/Methodology, research projects; and in particular, Wind Resource Maps at Mesoscale and Wind Turbine Test Laboratory.
CENER has a cutting-edge technological infrastructure, with the most modern laboratories and facilities in Europe. In the case of the Wind Turbine Test Laboratory, located in Sangüesa (Navarre.Spain), it is the only infrastructure of this kind in the world. By attending EWEC20009, CENER confirms itself as an international renewable energy centre.
