Located in the town of Sangüesa, Navarra, it is comprised of a series of cutting-edge technology wind turbine test infrastructures, of international reference, which include:
To perform tests in agreement with Standard 61400-23 (Test on Characterisation of physical properties, static and fatigue test). It has two test positions for blades of up to 85 m. long.
To perform mechanical durability tests on the powertrain (low speed shaft, multiplier, high speed shaft and generator) of wind turbines of up to 5 MW
To perform tests on generators and power electronics equipment.
To perform functional tests on the complete nacelle (electrical tests including performance faced with voltage dips, as well as mechanical and thermal tests), and tooling trials as well as to train personnel in assembly and maintenance.
To characterise the actions of 2D aerodynamic profiles and 3D blade tip aero-acoustics.
To optimise the manufacturing processes of components with compound materials, characterisation of process control variables and characterisation of material physical, chemical and mechanical properties.
To perform field tests on prototypes and certification. It will have 6 calibrated positions of up to 5 MW each one.
This group performs Power Curve, Energy Quality, Noise and Mechanical Load tests. These tests are authorised by ENAC (proceedings no. 355 LE/803) and are performed in agreement with the IEC regulation. They also have the MEASNET stamp and recommendations.
