CENER’s photovoltaic module test laboratory, one of the first labs across the world to get the accreditation to test according the new edition of the IEC-61215:2016 standard
- CENER’s laboratory is also one of the few labs around the world accredited to test PV modules of concentration technology (CPV)
- Other kinds of tests are also performed: complete characterization, quality control, PV plants inspection, tests of solar trackers, etc.
Sarriguren, 16th of January, 2018.- During last year, the Photovoltaic Module Test Laboratory of CENER (Spanish National Renewable Energy Center) received a new accreditation, concerning to the series of standards included in the IEC61215:2016 “Design qualification and type approval tests for terrestrial photovoltaic (PV) modules of crystalline silicon and thin film technology”
The accreditation by ENAC (National Accreditation Body) and the recognition by IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) are a direct consequence of the good results and all the experience acquired by CENER’s photovoltaic module test laboratory during more than 10 years in pursuit of excellence as an important infrastructure for testing photovoltaic components.
This new accreditation is an update of the old standard that already existed. The modifications included in this new edition have taken into consideration the results obtained during all these years of developing of the solar energy in the technological and research centres, joined to the international laboratories that work in order to establish the main standards that allow the quality assurance of the final PV products.
CENER’s Photovoltaic Module Test Laboratory also perform other types of advanced characterization tests, quality control, PV plants inspection, tests of solar trackers and inverters, etc. It is important to remember that is one of the few laboratories all over the world accredited to test PV modules of concentration technology (CPV).
