ATENEA, A TOOL THAT REPORTS ON BLADE EROSION AND PRODUCTION LOSSES CAUSED DURING THE LIFESPAN OF WIND TURBINES.

The Wind Energy Department at CENER has developed an open-access tool to estimate annual energy production (AEP) losses caused by the progressive erosion of wind turbine blades, one of the turbines’ key components.
The tool performs an analysis that takes into account different rainfall and wind conditions, as well as the operating scenarios of the wind turbine. Specifically, it evaluates differential erosion in different sections of the blade.
Atenea was developed within the framework of the European research project AIRE, coordinated by CENER and funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Programme.
The CENER team responsible for developing the tool is: @Raquel Martín San Román, @Pablo Benito Cia, @Beatriz Mendez , PhD, @Elena Cantero Nouqueret, PhD, Iñaki Nuin-Martínez-de-Lagos, David Astrain-Juangarcia, @Ernesto Saenz

It is compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems.
