CAESAR. Components for the Application of Structural Elements Structural elements in Singular Buildings and systems of Use of local resources and energy independence

11/2023 – 10/2026

PROJECT SCOPE

The energy transition requires the creation of construction and energy production strategies adapted to local needs and opportunities. This project proposes the development of optimized constructions and the use of fuels derived from waste, such as biogas, which, through the incorporation of renewable thermal and electric generation systems and storage systems, will be managed to achieve the optimal operation of the set of elements in an efficient, renewable and demand-adapted manner, with tools, developments and strategies to produce and consume their own clean energy.

The project proposes a new constructive solution consisting of wide spaces, but with a highly optimized structural weight, non-existent in the market and appropriate for a large number of applications. It will be a modular solution based on the use of advanced profiling, which will allow the construction of open-plan halls of up to 15 meters of interior free span, 6 meters of minimum interior height and of almost any length given its modularity in gantry format. Not only will it provide a constructive element with all the above advantages, but it will also be equipped with the necessary elements and intelligence to make it an energy efficient and independent solution with a large number of applications.

CENER ROLE

CENER will contribute to the project with the development of an energy management system (EMS) capable of monitoring all the variables to be considered in the building to be constructed, and depending on the different systems of renewable energy generation, electrical or thermal storage, decide at each moment which is the optimal energy contribution and which elements should supply it in order to minimize the consumption of the network and maximize the renewable one. At the same time, the structural monitoring of the building will be incorporated to be taken into account in the EMS algorithms.
