
CHLOE. Innovative control system development based in artificial intelligent and ad hoc sensors for high flux density in concentrating solar tower plants.

PROJECT SCOPE
The main objective of CHLOE is to develop an advanced, robust, fast, accurate, and reliable flux measurement and control system based on fiber-optic sensors and artificial intelligence algorithms for solar thermal plants dedicated to solar fuel production. The sensors will monitor the concentrated solar flux and temperature distribution on the receiver, while the algorithm will calculate the optimal aiming point strategy to ensure stable operating conditions in the receiver.
Within the CHLOE project, the characterization and understanding of the solar field will also be improved, enabling the generation of high-precision flux and temperature maps. This is essential not only to maximize production efficiency, but also to maintain high flux densities over long operating periods while preserving receiver integrity and operational reliability.
ROLE OF CENER
In this project, CENER plays a central role as both project coordinator and technology developer. CENER will develop a methodology to optimize the aiming point strategy in order to ensure a stable solar flux distribution on the receiver of central solar power plants.
