RE-LIGHT: Development of a lighter, cheaper, composite based mirror facet for concentrating solar power applications.

The general objective of the RE-LIGHT project is the development of a lighter, cheaper, composite based mirror facet for concentrating Solar Thermal applications. The new, composite based, mirror has to ensure acceptable (cost-effective) optical quality and durability characteristics, while allowing for lighter structures and drive systems as well as larger curvatures than current technologies.

The main activities of CENER in this project will be the following:

• Technical Coordination of the project.
• To develop, characterize and assess the quality and improvements of the mirror layers to be deposited or attached to the composite structural back sheet.
