WETSITE

The main objective of the WETSITE project is to develop methodologies, tools and guidelines for the exploitation of offshore wind power in deep waters, in accordance with the resource available in Spanish waters and which will also be applicable to those demanding operating environments where current technology cannot respond to the challenges posed by generation in marine waters.

This project is aligned with the special action of Energy, proposed in the INNPACTO 2011 call, since the results obtained from it will contribute to guaranteeing the electricity supply, thanks to the development of offshore wind technology for deep waters at competitive costs. Likewise, its theme falls within the scope of the Strategic Plan for Energy Technologies of the European Union (SETPlan), falling within the actions aimed at promoting wind generation activities.

CENER participates in the characterization of sites, environmental conditions, MetOceanic resource and its influence on the turbine and its components.
