The period for applications to install machines at CENER’s experimental wind farm kicks off

Comienza el período de solicitudes para instalar máquinas en el parque eólico experimental de CENER

There are several companies interested in setting up their prototypes at the experimental wind farm that the National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER) has in Sierra de Alaiz (Navarra), with a view to carrying out technological development projects.

The farm has the capacity to house 6 multi-megawatt prototypes, up to a total of 30 MW in privileged conditions for prototype development and engineering, such as:

  1. Highly complex area and within parameters for certification testing.
  2. High wind regime, Class IA or IIA depending on height and position.
  3. Calibrated positions and with reference poles at different measurement levels.
  4. Facilities building with R&D office area and warehouse.
  5. Extensive characterisation of wind flows.
  6. Processing in final phase: the aim is to energise in April 2011, with registration in the “Pre-assignment Register of tariffs for special regime experimental installations” in June 2011.

The possibility of being a user of the farm will be granted in agreement with some bases. The time limit for presenting applications will be 10 May 2011. For further information or questions, please contact:
