CENER SIGNS A COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH IRENA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

The Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) with its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Adnan Z. Amin, and the General Manager of the Spanish National Renewable Energy Centre (Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables de España, CENER), José Javier Armendáriz, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions. The main objective of this agreement is to encourage the development of renewable energy at an international level by carrying out joint projects of collaboration and by the exchanging knowledge and experience. To be more precise, the main areas of collaboration will be the improvement of renewable energy data and assessment methodologies; providing technical advice for the implementation of renewable energy; providing recommendations on both national and regional strategies and capacity building; exchanging information on best practices concerning renewable technologies and their implementation; and direct participation in projects such as IRENA’s Global Atlas for Solar and Wind Energy. In this latest, CENER has been already actively participating.
