CENER PARTICIPATES IN THE INTERNATIONAL PHOTOVOLTAIC FAIR OF REFERENCE

25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition

Promoting the capacity to characterise cell design and process in search of improvements in efficiency and yield as well as advice on photovoltaic facilities are just some of the skills that the Photovoltaic Solar Energy Department will present at the 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition /5th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion, which will take place in Valencia from 6 to 9 September.

This fair covers a total surface area of 80,000 square metres and it is expecting more than 40,000 visitors. That is why it is considered to be one of the most important fairs in the world for the solar photovoltaic industry.

This event has the support of organisations of acknowledged prestige such as the European Commission, UNESCO, WEC (World Energy Council) and IPVEA (International Photovoltaic Equipment Association). The World Conference of Specialists in Photovoltaic Energy will be held in parallel with the Fair.

The activity of the CENER Solar Photovoltaic Department has two supplementary lines of action. On the one hand, it develops R&D projects on resource measurement and assessment, technical and economic feasibility studies as well as solar power plant simulation.

On the other hand, the important state-of-the-art infrastructures of the centre must be underscored, such as the Photovoltaic Module Test Laboratory, which is accredited by the IEC to test modules in agreement with regulation IEC61215, IEC61646, IEC61730 and IEC62108. The Solar Collector Laboratory is accredited by ENAC to test EN 12976, EN 12976, ISO 9806, Solar Keymark and SRCC.

The Photovoltaic Material and Cell Laboratory has the capacity to work on all the necessary steps to develop a photovoltaic cell, using silicon as the main material, both in silicon wafer and thin lamina based technology, controlling the intermediate manufacturing processes.

CENER’s stand is located at: L2/ h2/ A51
