Third stakeholder meeting for the project development of a recyclability index for PV products

Sarriguren (Spain), June, 2025.- On May 16, 2025, the National Renewable Energy Centre of Spain (CENER) hosted the third stakeholder meeting for the Development of a recyclability index for photovoltaic products study, at its headquarters, located in Sarriguren (Spain).

The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) has commissioned a study for the development of recyclability indexes for photovoltaic products (PV modules and inverters). This comprehensive study is conducted by Viegand Maagøe, in collaboration with Universidad de Murcia and CENER.

The meeting focused on discussing the resulting of the testing stage, developed at CENER, and outlining the final steps of the study. A revised report had been published two weeks before the meeting.  The gathering provided an excellent opportunity for stakeholders to review the project’s advancements, address challenges, and comment on them.

The following speakers participated in the meeting: Felice Alfieri, from Viegand Maagøe, Nieves Espinosa, from Universidad de Murcia, Davide Polverini from DG GROW, and Cristina Pinto, from CENER. The participation of stakeholders representing industry, research, and policy sectors, underscored the importance and relevance of the project at a European level. Nearly 70 people participated in the meeting: the partners and the EC representative attended in person, while the remaining experts attended online.
