The characterisation and yields of electrolysers are measured, and tests are performed on control systems and power electronics adapted to renewable energy-electrolyser systems, as well as hydrogen reconversion systems, if necessary.

This laboratory is divided into two rooms, in one of which, tests and studies on hydrogen handling are carried out with a total degree of safety, according to the regulation for work in ATEX explosive atmospheres. In the other room, these tests are supervised.

A 1 Nm3/h alkaline electrolyser is used, which, connected to a converter, is able to simulate renewable source electricity generation, enabling us to study the operation of the complete system of equipment connected to renewable sources, such as, for example, wind energy.
