CENER participates in Project :“WIND TURBINES IN OPERATION AUTONOMOUS INSPECTION (AEROS)” (Ref.: RTC-2014-1977-3)

The objective of the Project is to develop automatic and autonomous technologies to inspect wind turbines (mainly blades) based on remote piloted aircrafts (RPAs). The RPA will be a hexacopter or octocopter.

The inspections will be performed during operation (blades in movement or stopped) using optical sensors (RGB, IR,…) and/or laser.

The partners in the consortium are Diagnostiqa, IXION, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Computer Vision Group) and CENER.

The project has been granted by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, according to the provisions of article 31 of Regulation of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, approved by Royal Decree 887/2006, of 21st July.
