CENER has extensive experience in simulating the complex dynamics of different offshore concepts.

The coupling between hydrodynamic and aeroelastic loads has been studied both for fixed bottom and floating platforms. Focused on the latter, concepts such as spar buoy, TLP, and semi-submersible have been characterised, and the loads calculated may provide valuable input for the design of components and certification purposes.

CENER has implemented key additions to the internationally used FAST code for aeroelastic simulations with the development of FEM code for the dynamic simulation of mooring lines and dynamic cables, as well as semi-submersible platform models.
